Hi all,

We're using Oracle8 database.
Never had this error before.
I have defined a new table (ttadv4120m000) and converted it to runtimeDD (ttadv5215s000).
So far so good.
Logged off and on again.
However, when I CREATE the table (ttaad4230m000) I get errorcode 2017 (can't create table)

ttstperrlog (log.ora8) says:
dbs_errno = 0. Error 2017 occurred:
Error ORA-1017 occurred during logon.
ORA-01917: Invalid username/password; logon denied
Error BDB-2017 returned

(I don't know where to find a description of these error-numbers)

Any suggestion is more than welcome.
Thanks.
Hans.

Hi,

Have you changed the password of the Oracle "BAAN" user recently? This is probably incorrect.

Use ora_maint6.1 to set the new password on the Baan side.

Have fun.

Thanks for the suggestion James,
I'll check with our 'DbAdmin' (who took off for a week :)
Regards,
Hans.

Thanks James !
You were definitely right.
Our DbAdmin changed the password for the user 'baan' within Oracle.
Regards,
Hans.

You wanted to know where to look up the ORA error numbers and what they mean. You should have received a documentation disk with your Oracle installation pack that has a separate document listing all errors. If that does not tell you enough, and is usually doesn't, then go to Oracle's on-line help system called Metalink. If you pay Oracle support fees and have a valid CSI number you can register to use it at no additional cost. I find it to be an indispensable tool for resolving many questions and problems. I have provided a link to the Metalink page that will allow you to register.
