I am facing an issue while copying components from one language to other in ERP ln.

How can we copy reports , labels , sessions and menus from english language to say Chinese in ERP ln.

In Baan 4 we have the option of copy to other language but can't find the same in ERP ln.

You don't have to do that in LN. You just copy the label code to another language and translate it.

Please consider the below scenario for reports.

If the layout of the report has all the columns occupied in english version and then I convert the labels to some other language which increases the size of the label then we will need to change the layout of the report.So does this mean that we cannot have different layouts for the same report in different language?

Also what about the conversion of Messages & Questions?

In ERPLN only 3 SW components are language dependent: labels, messages and questions. So, report layout is not language dependent.
You don't need to copy anything. What we are doing is:

1. Export Language Dependent Data to XML - Wizard
2. Translation
3. Import Language Dependent Data from XML - Wizard

1. Export Language Dependent Data to XML - Wizard
2. Translation
3. Import Language Dependent Data from XML - Wizard

Are the above steps included in LN standard ?

If yes please give me the session codes.

Step 1 and step 3 are sessions: ttadv8910m000 and ttadv8920m000. First session created xml file with descriptions in chossen language, you can translate this file and import translated description with second session into your language.

I created this .xml for messages (english) but when i try to open i open this file in notepad or notepad ++ i can only see some special characters. can you plz let me know how translate this file to french. file attached for your ref.
