If the data file extracted is huge, is it possible to use gzip utility through program script to zip the file and then ftp the same to the server.

If it's possible please send me the code for the same.

Can you elaborate your requirement ? though your requirement as I have understood is absolutely possible, you can simply write a shell to zip and ftp and run the command in your program script.
