We're running out of free ordernumbers. Has anyone experience with customizing BaaN to extent the ordernumbers to 8 positions?
How "heavy" was the customisation and what are possible pitfalls?

The way I think Baan would recommend to do this is by creating an archive company then archive the order data to this company and reset the first free numbers. And or depending what order it is you could create a new order series.

Hi there,
within SP15 for Baan IVc4, you got the opportunity to use ordernumbers with 7 digits. Did anyone implemeted this feature already?
We use one SLS order series every year, so this feature would help us a lot

There is a Baan document "Guide to Enlarging Order Numbers" (U8339A-US) for BaanIVc4 that you may want to get.

Thanks, DStroud!
I got this document already. I was wondering if anybody has done this enlargement and what is the impact in practice. We'll surley use this feature, but it seems to require a lot of testting.

Due to some legal requirements in Germany the ordernumbers were very recently 'upgraded' to 8
Probably the same fix Martin talks about.
(Fix was initiated round the time I left the company......so somewhere around SP15)

Just an update on the 7 digit solution delivered with SP15:
the new functionality is not part of the Baan standard software! I'm curious how Baan will support this new feature
