We are on 4c4 and make use of SMS by basically sending an E mail from within Baan to our SMS provider.

We use the unix mailx command to send the mail from within a report script which runs in a job.

The E mail is sent to mobilenumber@txtlocal.co.uk and txtlocal.co.uk forwards it on. The mail does have to be in a certain format but it's pretty easy to set up.
