Well - what I typically do is leave the script alone since it already works for the detail report. I then clone the detail report, delete all the detail layouts and then just print the summary. In some cases I do leave empty layouts in the report - you need those layouts if you have something in the report script like totals. So in some of my reports you will see layouts with 0 lines.
