In a report when we change the font from Courier New to Arial or any other
local font, we are not able to Right Align the Text and Numbers. We tried
with all the available fonts and alignment of the fields at LN Level.
The Text appears Ok when we go with Courier New (Right Aligns) but when we
change the font the Alignment becomes center aligned.
We need to know whether any other fonts or method corrects this issue.
Please find screen shot attached stating the comparison between the two
fonts.
Any help would be greatly appriciated.

I guess that it isn't possible to right align fields using a proportional font because LN uses spaces and not tabulators to align the reports.

Hi,
we had the same problem and solved it the following way:
Define a special font only for the amounts in the report layouts resp. the report fields. We used font 17 (old Name Font 9).
In bwprint assign the Arial Font to this Font. Additionaly set the Font spacing for that Font.
Untick the Field 'Use Font Metrics' for Horizontal spacing and define a character width of your choice.
The disadvantage is that the Font is not proportional anymore, but if you use it only for amounts it's reasonable.
Hope this helps,
Andreas

Hi Thanks for the quick reply, how do I change font spacing as attached in your reply?
At the moment we have the font arial for text and for the numbers we have courier new, we are thinking of using Hidox Form designer to solve this issue.

Hi Thanks for the quick reply, how do I change font spacing as attached in your reply?
Just like you change Font:
Start bwprint; Go to Help->Font Test
Look for your Font and Right Click. In Context Menu there is a Font Spacing Entry.

Hi Thanks for the info, I managed to get it working, I defined a new font for arial and applied that to only the numbers. The spacing is a bit out but I guess users will have to deal with that. attached is a screenshot.

Maybe this is your problem:
Excerpt from bwprint Online-Help
For font1 (large, 10CPI), font 2 (small, 16.67 CPI) and font3 (middle, 12 CPI), only fixed size fonts can be selected. This is because these fonts are used for positioning of individual report items. Although not enforced, reports expect these fonts to have the size as specified in the name (10CPI, 16.67 CPI and 12 CPI resp.).
