I have heard the term used in respect of customs tariff codes.
In Baan 4, these are termed commodity codes. tcmcs0128m000 is where you set them up.

Although you could be referring to something else!

Hello,

Nomenclature is also the french word for Bill of material.
But I suppose the answer is right:

Définition :
A system under which all commodities (agricultural produce, raw materials, semi-finished and finished products) are numbered according to a pre-arranged order, for convenience of reference or comparison in connection with statistics, tariffs, etc.

I guess it is the naming convention followed by Baan for a session. Like 1 is for maintain, 2 for update, 4 for print and 5 for update.
