Is there any function in BaanIV to find day of the week i.e. whether a date is Monday or Tuesday etc?

You can use sprintf$ for this. I.e. sprintf$("%D(%e)", <date var>) should give you 1-7 for the days in the week.

Look for sprintf$ in the online manual for more details.
