Does anyone know if it is possible to print 2 Dimensional Barcodes from within Baan IV c2 using the standard Baan toolset ?
I would like to print 2D barcodes (PDF417 symbology) on various labels and reports.
If anyone has accomplished this or is thinking about doing this, I would be very interested in any information that you have.

Hi,
I know that there are Barcode modules (harware) from HP which contain 2D Barcode types.
With such a module it should be possible to access a 2D-Barcode just like any other type.
If you search the Hewlett Packard Pages you should find something. I did not have a link yet.
But I never tried it!

We use Intermec printers and send the IPL codes from Baan. We have generated many different labels this way.

Ed,
Are those Intermec printers connected to the n/w or the parallel port of the local client machine? Are you using BWPrint or Unix based printing?
We are using Intermec printers connected to the N/W. We use Streamserve to create the IPL. But if there is a way to not to use Streamserve, I would like to explore that.

We output the IPL to a flat file and send it to the printer. We bypass the actual Baan report and do everything via files. This has been done on both unix and NT. The Intermecs are network printers.
I still think Streamserve is a very valuable tool. This particular method is something we had in place before we got Streamserve.

Besides, some controls on google can also print pdf 417 (http://www.barcodelib.com/net_barcode/barcode_symbologies/pdf417.html), you should add the pdf 417 barcode dll to BWprint.
