Hi All,

I just got into LN programming and need to create a new session based no a custom table. At first, I only had one index consisting of two fields. The form displayed the first field as a view field and the second one in the multi-occurrence list with the rest of the fields.

Now the user wants to add a second view. So I created a second index which now consists of 3 fields. The user wants to see 2 fields in the view area and everything else in the detail.

Even though I enabled the Dynamic Index Switching checkbox and checked both indeces, the session won't display the 'Sort by' entry in the menu. In fact, I don't see any of the navigation buttons either. What am I doing wrong?

Thanks for your help,
tom

Hi Tom,

Just to be sure: did you checked in the 'standard commands' of the session the 'Sort by' option?

Also also select the Indices (ttadv2101s000) from Session (ttadv2500m000) specific menu.

I did. What else could be the problem?

Hello,

In the session properties (third tab): did you put on Dynamic index switching?

I selected "Restart when view fields differ" and checked the "Show name of index" box.

That should be sufficient...mmh...Maybe you can post the relevant screenshots of the session details. Or did you already compare them yourself with another session that uses DIS?
