When I use fmax($#) for fields in form intial value in Baan5.0c for string data types , with domains tcmcs.str, it brings the value in small letters like "zzzzzz" and for tfgld.dimx kind of domains, it brings the value in capital letters "ZZZZZZ".

Where can find the parameters for this??

this difference is coming from the domain definition. tfgld.dimx is defined with a conversion to uppercase . So the max string should be "ZZZZZZ" and not "zzzzzz".
domain tcmcs.str?? have no conversion ==> max = "zzz...."
