Iam having a requirement that the user wants to display the BaaN server Name he is in.... Say for example there are3-4 servers and the users do have permissions to login.... If there is a problem.... then it will be easy for us to ask them to see on thier Menu broswer which server he.she is in...
How do we do this??? Is it possible?????

You can use this option in the BWC command -
-- -set BAAN_WIN_TITLE='Hostname-%h'

You can change in BWC if its only for one user.
Else you can add it to the $BSE/lib/bse_vars file to set for the whole environment.

I think we both are online....
I tried finding $BSE/lib and the file name u specified.. its not there.. do I need to add one???? Will this cause any system problems???
The command is exactly
set baan_win_title='hostname-%h'
all lower case right????

I tried using this... it does not work... I put the exact command on the (--set -......) in the browser... it does not show up... where does it dhow on the menu browser????? top/bottom????
Create/Modify - $BSE/lib/bse_vars file
Add the entry with whatever parameters you like-
BAAN_WIN_TITLE='LMSV-[%s-%S][%c-%C]'
You can then see the Title on top of every BaaN session

Baanuser2003 , i c u r on b40 . Did the hostname appeared as suggested by Prashanth. Can u post the bse_vars entry. I too need the hostname on Baan menu.
I did modified the desktop browser . But I still need the hostname as differentiator .

I do not think this works on 4c4. I checked the Baan support site and the only place BAAN_WIN_TITLE was mention had to do with tt7.1a. I would assume(and probably be wrong) that this is a Baan V feature. When searching for bse_vars on the site I found one solution that said it was not fully read or not read at all for other versions. I took examples from the support site and none of them worked.

Hi,
I tried using -- -set BAAN_WIN_TITLE also, even this not working.
I have searched the Baan support site, it says for in SolutionID
81854, as below
English Display information menubrowser bar: BAAN_WIN_TITLE
VERSION(S):
BaanERP Tools 7.1a ("Corelli"), and higher versions.
(Verdi-1: SP6, Corelli: SP4)
(So: NOT applicable for BaanERP Tools B50_b, or BaanIVc !!!)
So does it mean we cant do it, anybody on B50_b inputs please.
