Please insert the whole text of the select statement, otherwise is impossible to understand the error.

Your object is corrupt. I assume you copied from another server in a wrong mode.

I tried by commenting select of this particular table and the same error appeared for another table selected. Please note that this code was previously working fine.

The error can be BEFORE the code you commented. Also you can search if in the source there is something like a control code char that you cannot see directly.
