In the BW configuration at client end there are theree option under for connect as

1. Ask password at startup
2. Use saved password
3. Current user.

If the third option is clicked (current user) baan can be logged in with user as current user.

e.g. someone can use my baan authorizations etc if I left my machine running without screen saver password. Moreover this is not easy to logoff the machine everytime I am away from it. No doubt I logged out from BaaN whenever not required.

Is there any solution within baan other then screen saver password for this problem..

Dear amarpreet,

Have you had a look at session timeout before? It is discussed in the threads below
Disconnecting idle users - session_timeout (http://www.baanboard.com/baanboard/showthread.php?s=&threadid=6680)
Inactive users (http://www.baanboard.com/baanboard/showthread.php?s=&threadid=7948)
closing idle baan sessions (http://www.baanboard.com/baanboard/showthread.php?s=&threadid=1848)

If you really want to be very, very safe, you'd have to lock your computer every time you're away from it anyway (say using Lock Computer available on NT), not only when you have BaanERP running on your screen.

Rgds,
Paul

I Think U misunderstood my Query. My query is

At client end where operating system is Win98, I am away from my computer with login to NT as a currenct user.

Someone at my computer opens up baan configaration & click the option connect as current user.

System opens up my BaaN login & can gain access to all the resources.

Dear,

Don't save password, make it empty, so that whenever somebody try to missuse, he has to enter valid password.
Secondly why you don't want to use windows screen-saver?
It is like, use windows calculator or use baan's calculator - result will same.
