I know that Baan 5b can run on Oracle 9i, however they're trying to tell me I need to install it on 8i first and then do an upgrade to 9i. Can anyone help me with an install procedure to get to Baan 5b and Oracle 9i from the beginning. I hate in-place upgrades. ANy help would be appreciated.

A workaround: install in Oracle 8i, make a dump of the tables, remove the O8 database, create an O9 database and post the data in the O9 database.
As I know not much about installations this is the only help I can give you.

I just did installation Baan 5b on Oracle 9i.
First, I have contacted Baan and I have been told it's not supported :)
The update to Oracle 8 is required ONLY for Baan Tools and instead of running PMC, you can replace 3 files on Tools directory
- ostp_stddll
- ostpstandard
- ostpstdlib
After that you are set to GO :)

I think you also need the porting sets upgrades to handle Oracle 9i.
