Hi
I want to run Licence daemon on two application servers, both plus a third one pointing to the same database server.
How do I proceed ? I cannot generate the Security key for both the application servers as the second time will overwrite the first one in the ttiex301000 table..
Do I validate the first app. server and then proceed with validating the second..? That way the brand files will be unique..
Thanks..

Only validate on one server. Only run the licence daemon on one server. Update the file licence6.1 in the lib directory on all servers with the host name of the server running the licence daemon before you validate. Baan support needs to understand that you will be running Baan on more then one server or they may give you a key that will drop the number of users allowed by a half or a third after a few hours.

Also check that the host name (on which Baan License Daemon is running) is put into your /etc/hosts file.

But that way...when I validate, will it generate the brand file on both the application servers where the Licence daemon will be running..?
Thanks for ur help...

You only need to generate the brand file on the one server where the licence daemon will be running. When you start Baan on the other servers they will look to the licence6.1 file to determine where the license daemon is running.

Yes, only where the license is setup the .brand file will be generated.
Check solution 82511: how does the Baan license server (LICD) work: part I (a text solution).
It explains very well what is a standalone license daemon setup, a pool of servers (nodes) and a HA (high availability) setup (and possibilities of mix) and how to configure such and what is needed from Baan, etc.
