when i activate any job using rc.startjob it gets started but it keeps on running even after execution of the job. it didn't get teminated. why is that so?

Could be a number of reasons. Check log files for clues. A common problem for jobs involving a print is that the printer can not be found.

i feel u r right. but wot do i do. i have given ascif device but still it is not working.

ascif should work. Is the file actually generated? If not, check permissions and make sure the job owner is able to freely access the location the file is being sent to. Also, if it is a large report, verify that the files system has enough space to write the complete file.

By saying "it gets started but it keeps on running even after execution of the job", do u mean the job shows a status of having completed successfully in Baan but still has some processes related to the job hanging at the OS level?
