We are installing B4c4 and are having a problem with service pack 9. When we run the PMC "Scan Solution File" session, we get a message "The base VRC of the dump B40c differs from the base VRC of the update VRC". The base VRC of our update VRC is B40c4. Is this incorrect?

no, that is correct,
probably you're scanning the whole servicepack-cd,
this includes also other extensions than standard

The Base VRC for BaanIV c4 standard must be B40 c.

Baan created a new method for new installations, called 'Batch Installer'. After the installation of the mastertape, all service packs up to 8 can be installed in one go. This installation is not done with PMC, but all PMC necessary tables are filled to have a consistent registry and to be able to install solutions and service packs on top op SP8. Also for BaanERP 5.0 c a batch installer is available; this one goes to SP7.

So, how can I fix this? Do I need an entry in "Maintain Update VRC's" (session ttpmc2140m000) for B40c4 with a base VRC of B40c?

In the Batch Installer documentation is described how to setup the VRC structure for PMC.
You must have an Update VRC "B40U c4 stnd" connected to Base VRC "B40 c" in session ttpmc2140m000. For this Update VRC you have to scan the service pack.
