Hi all,

Baan: BaanIVc3
UNIX: AIX 4.3.3
Database : Baan Base

After I upgraded the porting set for BaanIVc3 to 6.1c.06.05,the BaanIVc3 can not be connected with BW, but the BaanIVc3 may be connected with running ba6.1 on the UNIX. I don't know whether the BaanIVc3 support porting set 6.1c.06.05.

error:
Not authorized to run as user 'bsp'
Connection with server lost.
Start BW again to re-connect.

Can you help?

Thanks in advance!

If it is working with ba6.1 then there should not be any problem with porting set. Try upgrading ur BW client with latest version and see.

All the best.

Can you help?

Thanks a advance !

Could you clarify? You are running IVc3 and IVc4 on the same server?

Take a look on log.bshell and give to us more information. Look alos on the file ipc_info (don't think, but ..)

What porting set did you upgrade from?

In the attached bshell.log there are permissions errors.
First you have to fix the $BSE/lib permissions.

I have restored the porting set for ivc3 to previous version 6.1c.02.01,and the server can run well.

I have upgraded again the porting set to 6.1c.06.05,when I run rc.start, the following error occur:

tbase6.1: set uid bit should be on with owner root for '/usr3/bse/bin/bisam_srv6.1'
Cannot initialize Database Processes of TRITON Base

You should run ${BSE}/bin/binperm6.1 to fix permissions.

As last indication for people that will install a portingset, read carefully the installation text solution, it's mentioned there to run the binperm6.1 to correct the permissions after installation.
