Does anyone know how to find out from the application server what version of client (bw) is being used to connect?
Later porting sets make specific requirements on the client bw being at least newer than a specific version. It would be useful to detect out of date bw's trying to connect.
We are on Baan IVc. Any help would be appreciated, thanks

Hi Phil,
I am not sure if this valid for BaaN-4 series or not. I had a case logged for this issue and the solution is available for us in BaaN-5.2
Here is the case info and please check up at the BaaN Support site for the validity for different BaaN Versions.
Case 955521 - Find Worktop Version
You can try to use the worktop /v to get the version info.

Thank you for replying, unfortunately we are on Baan IVc, using the old GUI interface (bw). So I don't think this will apply to us quite yet.
Thanks anyway.

Hi Phil,
Just for your information; Worktop is also available on IVc4 SP7 and higher.

Hi Phil,
I came across this file - version.txt file in the BW folder which stores the version info.
You need to make a program which can read the BW version info when a user connects.

Hi NPrao,
That's correct but this file is not present on a BaanIV BW...

You can use filever.exe from Windows Support Tools. There exists different fersions for W2K and WXP.
