My requirement is given below.

I want to block all the normal users modifying the price field
in the session Maintain Purchase order Lines ( tdpur041.pric )
for the POs not between 160000 and 169999.

I did this thro the session ttaad4135m000 and converted to
runtime. But it is not working...

Attaching a file for the reference

You can try to use - Tables Data authorizations by Table in the Role Data.

NPRao,

We are not using DEM.

Saravanan,

thats using the tools authorizations and not DEM.

I am at home so I dont remember the session code. so open the roles sessions, ttams2100m000 (or ttams2500m000), and check the specific menu. It should be in the BaaN Tools -> User Management and sub-menus...

I worked mainly on the BaaN-5 series and we are now on BaaN-5.2. I see that your working on the BaaN IV C4 version. I worked on BaaN-4 in 1997, so I dont remember now. I guess you might find it up there.

Hi Saravanan,

just an idea, but have you also defined the Table Field Authorization (Write/read) for field tdpur041.pric in Session "ttaad4133m000"?

NPRao,

I cound not found any such session in tools. Specifically I want to
give authorisation (for each field ) in database level.

Yes. We are on BaaN IV C4.

Juergen,

I tried both the ways.

1. a) I gave "write/read" authorisation for the field tdpur041.pric
for the orders between 160000 and 169999.
b) I gave "read" authorisation for the field tdpur041.pric for the
orders not between 160000 and 169999.

This didn't work as expected. So I deleted the first one.

Now 1.b alone is there. Now also it is not working...

Saravanan,

I think there is some misunderstanding.
There are two sessions involved.

a)First you have to define the "read/write" authorisation for field tdpur041.pric in Session ttaad4133m000 (Maintain Table Field Authorizations).

b) In the second step you have to define the "read" authorisation for field tdpur041.pric for orders not between 160000 and 169999 in Session ttaad4135m000 (Maintain Table Field Data Authorizations).

This works in our IVc4 environment.

Saravanan,

Here are the screenshots and an example about a role TSG (our technical support group), who can create normal users ONLY.

In your case you can choose the "between" operator.

I guess you just have to explore a little bit more.

Moderator note: the example provided is for ERP, not BaanIV

hi all,
I have followed the below steps for authorisation but i my case
also nothing is happening .

a)First you have to define the "read/write" authorisation for field tdpur041.pric in Session ttaad4133m000 (Maintain Table Field Authorizations).

b) In the second step you have to define the "read" authorisation for field tdpur041.pric for orders not between 160000 and 169999 in Session ttaad4135m000 (Maintain Table Field Data Authorizations).

Hi,

sounds mysterious.

Just have done a short setup on our test system with the two settings for a normal user and it works as expected!

Session Maintain Table Field Authorizations:
BAAN User : t1088
All Companies : Ja Company :

Field Name Description Authorization Indicator

tdpur041.pric Price Write/read

Session Maintain Table Field Data Authorizations:
BAAN User : t1088
All Companies : Ja Company :
Table Field : tdpur041.pric
Table Field Auth. : Write/read
Data Authorization : Read

Cond. Sern Field Operator Value 1 Value 2 And/Or/End

1 1 orno between 160000 169999 end of exp

Sounds funny...

I did the similar set up as Juergen did on our test sys. It just worked fine.

I guess, Saravanan,

you need to check something again:
- Check if the conditions you gave right..
- Check appropriate user authorizations...

If you're getting any BaaN bw errors let us know....What are you actually encountering...any error messages getting displayed ?

Saravanan,

I had similar problems defining authorizations for all companies. As i define the authorizations by company it works fine. You should try this also.
