We have a baan 5b installation on a sun sol box. The data contains some multibyte chars. The records containing these chars are not being updated as a fatal error is returned due to the TSS char error.

I have found just one place where the nls can be changed and that is the db_resource file. I have made the corresponding changes in the config file too. But I still am getting the error.

Do we need to restart baan after the changes have been made to the db_resource file, is there any way we can get the changes effective without restarting baan.

it is best to restart baan but ensure that shared memory is refreshed .

how do I ensure that the shm is refreshed ? is there any command ?
