I am installing BaaN IV B2 on Informix and NT.

After the installation when I try to log in I am getting the Error 505 (No Server specified in tabledef6.1 or server cannot be started) on ttadv002000

Pls. advice

This is from Baan support:

Check the $BSE/log directory ( for NT check Application Event Viewer of the Server) for relevant log file information.

Host Mode:
- The file permission for $BSE/lib/tabledef{REL} may be wrong.
- In tabledef{REL} the database type( oracle7,oracle8,informix etc) must be present in $BSE/lib/ipc_info file
- Not enough resource available to start a driver process.
- $BSE/lib/ipc_info file has SPACES as field separator instead of TAB.
In Baan Client-Server(Baan Net):
- All the possibilities mentioned for Host Mode.
- $BSE/lib/user/r{$USER} file contains wrong password, permission.
- There is a difference in server name in $BSE/lib/tabledef{REL} and $BSE/lib/user/r{USER}.
- Format problem in $BSE/lib/user/r{USER}.
- Client and server network connection is down.

Error solved after creating system variables for Informixdir etc in the Environment and corecting the license file.

I am facing a similar problem on Baan IVc4 on Windows.
I have checked all the conditions mentioned by evertsen but still could not find a solution.

What might be the problem ?

Initially the server name was santro and it was later changed to gemini after Baan Installation. Is the problem because of the same ?

Changing server name should not coz any problems, as long as you have not changed the IP address. In which case, you need to re-license the server (print out an RSC).

Hi Folks,

I am getting the Error 505 (No Server specified in tabledef6.1 or server cannot be started) when users trying to login into Baan.
when i see the sh_server-003.log logs it is giving errno: 11 Resource temporarily unavailable.
Can you please suggest which parameters I need to check?
