Hi,
We have our current Baan4 test server runnign on AIX/Oracle setup. The licensing here is through SLM.
We want to Install a test LN FP7 environment on the same host and share the SLM licenses with Baan4. Is this possible?
If not, can we reduce the number of Baan licenses and allocate them to LN on the same host id in SLM?
Please suggest.
Thanks,

ERPL ln and baan4 are using different product-ids inside SLM,
so you cannot share. you can ask Infor for reducing baan4 and
transfer to LN ...

Hi Rochus,
Let me be more specific..
In BaaN4 we have clustered SLM servers. The test server is slave node of SLM cluster where Prod. BaaN server is acting as Master.
Now what we need is to have LN licensing done from the same SLM MMC Snap In. So, can we have the same physical machine acting as both Master (incase on LN) and Slave (Incase of Baan4 test)
Thanks,

The same SLM can be license server for Baan IV and ERPLN, this is not problem. But it is not possible that one SLM is started in master mode for some products and in slave mode for others.

you can install SLM-twice (running on different ports - 6005,6006), if you want to mix up master and slave. in etc/servers.xml you specifiy host and port
if master and slave are equal, you can use the one SLM-Server for both versions ...

Hello,
i have done similar things at our company.
i installed the SLM server on the PC and there are 2 environment that working on that PC in the VM, baan 5 and LN.
so first i installed the SLM server on the PC with all the baan 5 and LN product ID and then in the erpserver i installed the client and then make a cluster license using the slmconfig -c command.
i hope that helps,
Roy
