Hi, did you perform the steps described in the pre-installation guide?

yes
1- install windows server 2003
2- install Drivers
3- update windows service pack 2
4- Install Net Frame Work 3.5
5- install SQL 2005
6- install java
7- install Microsoft Visual C++ 2005 Redistributable
8- Staging wizard
9- Instal. wizard

what is written in the staging area under "logging files" ?
Does c:\baandb exist and has enough permissions for your user ?

i dont know what do you mean the windowos user or sql login
- but when leave the dictory of the database as it is which was
C:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server\MSSQL.1\MSSQL\Data
the database created successfully
any other dirctory the error appears

When you want the installer to create the datafiles (*mdf, *ldf) in c:\baandb , you have to create that directory (c:\baandb) before you start the installation wizzard.

Sometimes it might give u a hint on what is happening.
