Yes, it is possible to migrate. Only depends if the current system is already been used for some time (data, users, patches - SP's - etc.) or not. If not, maybe it's faster to start with a new environment, if yes, then migrate.

You need in advance to add the Oracle8 function and create your database, users, etc, maybe even upgrade the portingset...
Then you use bdbpost to dump your tables (all, including company 000), stop Baan, adapt tabledef6.1 to point to the new database, start Baan and then use bdbpost to load the data.

Have backups at hand...

ok, I´ll need to migrate, but I have a question, if I don´t want to do a new installation, what is the way to create oracle data base,
throught BaaN Master Cds or it does exist some oracle scripts to do it.

can I use the Master Cd to create Databases over an existing baan installation ?

Thanks again,

And wirte u soon.

You can do a manual create of the db. It's not that complicated.

Please note the attachment, that are the scripts I always use.

Hi:

As you want, it is possible. You need to acquire baan iv b2 extension for Oracle 8. It´s a dowloadable product from the BGS but it has to be purchased depending the user licenses acquired.

You can migrate to oracle 8 without a new setup.
