Are you saying that you cannot edit the file from the OS level? Did someone edit the file manually and change the extension? Are you unable to maintain the database information within Baan?

If you need help with the format consult the Baan ERP SQL Server Driver Technical Reference manual. If you need a copy, send me an email.

Did you check whether you still have the old backup of the tabledef6.1? It is normally kept as tabledef6.1-. If that file is still OK, then switching the tabledef files could solve your problem.

I couldn't edit the file at the OS level. I did get the copy of the
document, I am trying to recreate the file. I am just worried, whether it has all the required entries. we did not have the backup. it is in the test enviornment so somebody screwed it up.
Thanks for your suggestions.

First if you have baanB50c, file name will have to be tabledef6.2.

In it, i should have something like:
*:*:msql:N
This will be enought to log in.

If you are in the application server, maybe the tabledef6.2 will be:
*:*:<nameofbaanserver>
