Hi,
I created a new user in baan5server.When i am trying to login with new user,it is giving error "cannot connect to Bshell".After pressing 'OK' button,it is showing fatal error " Not authorized to run as user 'x' "..
Server :baan5.0c
database:oracle 9i
Can anybody please help me to solve the above error??

There are many things that can be wrong. For instance:
Does OS (or domain) user exist? If yes, can this user login on OS level? Did you start session convert to runtime after you created user?

Hello,
as jclju1 suggest, there are many reasons that causes this.
Is the user defined as DB user in ora_users?
Check OS , BaaN , DB !

Hi,
I tried to login at os level.it is able to login..I checked db,baan level also.it is correct in all the places.
Still it is not able to login??
It is repeating the same error..

Could you attach picture that we can see how you defined this new user?
Check on $BSE/lib/user if exists file unew_user_name.

what's in the logfiles $BSE/log ?
How do you access ?
Same client, different client ?
Give more information / screenshots as jclju1 suggest !!!!!

Did you check file $BSE/lib/user/unew_user_name?

What about user names (OS user name and Baan user name)? Are they same? If not, do you set varibale USER?
