I have two servers runing Baan.
OS:Windows NT Enterprise
Database:Oracle with Oracle Fail Safe
Cluster:Microsoft Cluster Server.
Hardware:Two Compaq Proliant 7000 Server

The two servers sharing BSE(Baan) with microsoft cluster.
If one of them down single server runing Baan and Oracle services same time. They backup of each other. Normal runing time one of own Baan services the other one is own Oracle and cluster services

And now we want to add third one for testing and development server. We want sharing only licence service this server. New servers Database and BSE completely different the others physicaly.

I have "Adding New Host Baan Doc" for unix but I can't find for Windows NT.

Hi There,

We have similar configurations in Unix all the time and we do the following:

1) Just install the test server normally

2) After installation disable the licence daemon/service

3) Point the content of the ascii file $BSE/lib/licence6.1 to
the licence server of your production system

4) Validate your installation with the same keys settings as the production system.

Should work!

If you have problems with the validation, just copy the tools and application objects from your life system to your test system. They are already validated.

As your test-server should be an image of your production system, you might want to do this anyway.

And remember to disable WIndows 2000 plug and play network features to avoid the license becoming invalid if the wrong NIC is considered primary upon reboot.
