Dear friend..

- Make sure you've installed the vcredist inside the portingset folder to make the installation inteface with the C++ and the DB engine. if not solved try to Update the W2k3 to the SP2.

or you can try restarting the services of the database in services.msc,

or again, try to drop down the list of available database.

if it's don't work, try browse into the database.

Hi,

I am also having the same problem.

I am installing LN to WinXP SP2, MSSQL server 2005.

I did install the SQL-DMO 2005 but the error remains.

Rgds.

Hi,

Try to find out why the connect could not be made. Just retry and look for messages at the current time. Places to look at:
- eventviewer, both Application as System part.
- staging area directory "Logging Files"\<environment name>
- subdirectory "lib\install\vm\log" in the environment.

regards, Siebren.

Hi,

The most probable reason could be that u might be choosing a wrong instance or database might not be running.....

Hi all,

if you install sql backward compatability pack which is found on sql server setup cd. this will most probably resolve the issue. please install it immediately after installing sql server and before starting erpln installation.

regards,
Vishal

i think you should use a younger portingset for sql 2005... at the installation docukentaion of sql server are also a small documentation to test the general connection to the database....

Hi Chakri,

During SQL Installation - Authentication Mode --> Select Mix Mode (means sa & baan).
