Hi @all,

it is possible licensing Baan IV with SLM ?
If so, where i could receive the Prod-ID's for Baan IV, Infor lists only the Prod-Id's for Baan5.x and ERP LN and BaanIV Integration.

thanks
Martin

I may be wrong but I think that Baan IV is only licensed via the old style license daemon licd6.1.

Porting set 6.1d.XX.XX will be 64bit and will be licensed via SLM, this can be seen in the Technical Notes for Porting Set 6.1c.07.20. (U9461B)

Hnmmm,
here is the extract from the technical notes, Portingset 6.1c.07.21:

This branch will deliver 32bits porting sets for the currently supported platforms as long as the 6.1d branch is not general available.
When the 6.1d branch is general available, support via the 6.1c branch will be continued only for the Tru64 platform and until the end of support of Tru64 by HP.
The 6.1c.07.x branch will introduce the support for licensing based on the SLM license manager as optional alternative for the license daemon based licensing.

so, SLM is an alternative for the license deamon, but how to configure ?

Contact your local Baan Support:
http://www2.support.baan.com/asp/validation.asp

Infor Baan ERP software must be validated prior to use. A License key is required for each new installation of the Infor Baan software:

If you do not have a support contract please contact your local salesperson.

Revalidation of existing installations is required in case of the following events:

* Hardware changes
* Updates/changes in versions
* Hardware or operating system upgrades
* Changes between one database or another (e.g., Informix to Oracle)
* Increase in numbers of users
* Catastrophic failure of system requiring a complete reload

Contact your local Baan Support:

for your information :

i had opened a servcie Call at Infor. Result :

The SLM user licensing implementation for Baan IV is not available yet in the current porting sets.

We expect that it will take another 3 to 6 months for it to become available via a new 6.1c.07.x porting set.
