new baan IV install hangs on windows installation with msql7_srv.exe taking up 100% CPU.

Baan master cd has portingset 6.1c.07.13 which might not be certified for our VMWare environment.
We tried replacing the portingset with 6.1C.07.21 which is certified but then the install stops when starting the bw-client.

What is the best method to use a different portingset than the one that is included in the master cd?

The above error is given when running the rexec command from the command line.
When running it from the database server to the application server it connects fine.
I guess the database server is blocking a certain type of connection...

I've also run into problems when trying to run an install via Terminal Services without the "/console" tag. Might not be applicable to you, but you can take a look.

we are using pc-duo - so basically working on the console directly.

if you leave the installer running long enough (more than 12 hours) it comes up with fatal error 1000. See attached screen shot.
