When the BAAN automated backup runs though the scheduled jobs invoking bdbpre and the backupLog.txt is examined the output looks like the data tables were empty.
Also now one of my companies does not produce files.

Table RowCount Messages
----------- -------- ----------------------------
bccnv001200 No rows in table
bccnv002200 No rows in table
bccnv004200 No rows in table
bccnv008200 No rows in table
bccnv009200 No rows in table
bccnv010200 No rows in table
bccnv011200 No rows in table
bccnv114200 No rows in table

Any assistance would be awesome. I am new to BAAN and just want to verify backups until we get a new admin for the application.

Those are conversion tables so they would be empty. nothing to worry about.

I was told by someone in support that using bdbpre in this manner just an additional backup as we already backup all our BAAN servers with Tivoli Storage Manager?
We are running SQL agents and getting good backups nightly.
If we had to restore BAAN are these files needed or would we have them from our regular back up process.

Thanks

it depends what kind of restore are you going to perform, the most usual is restore the db from database backup and the application from O.S. backup, in this case you don“t need those files.

there is another way to restore, restoring or recreating your application, and restoring the info from this files with baan sessions, in a productive system, from my point of view this is the very last option.
