I believe I have seen this error when users have cut and pasted text from MS-Word directly into Infor/Baan/ERP and extended characters aren't supported well or cause issues.

Users should cut and paste into Notepad to strip such characters and then go into ERP.

The resolution when I experienced was to track down the text and manually strip out the offending characters.

Note: There are likely several scenarious that could cause this error, I'm just sharing one from experience.
