Dear all,

We are using BaaN IVc3 with Oracle 8.0.4 on Sun Solaris 2.6, and facing a following problem when we re linking a user.

Before re link the user, we delete the all user data as follows
* Delete user profiles from OS level including home directory, also cleared user data from the /ect/passwd and /etc/shadow files
* Delete Oracle user data
* Delete BaaN User

After deleting all 3 levels, recreate the user for (Unix,Oracle,Baan). Then issued the linking command “ora7_maint6.1” and it gives us following error message

username -1 -1 Baan user ‘user name’ already exists

How can we overcome this problem.

thanks

Srilal,

Did you also delete the user from the $BSE/lib/ora/ora_users file? If not, then that is the reason of your error message.

Hi,

You are running Oracle 8.0.4
and you use ora7_maint6.1 to do an action ????
Don't you get errors???
According to me you should use 0ra8_maint6.1

Hi GN

It’s not giving any error, I think “ora7_maint6.1” compatible with Oracle 8, but I think with Oracle 8i there should be a problem.
