Whenever I try to login into baan to server I get following error messages and I am not able to login into Baan

rexecd: Couldnt look up address for your host
rexec failed host "Server name" username "user" command '/opt/baan/bse/ipc_boot6.2'

Error : bw failed to connect <server name>!bshell

I have entererd the correct server name and I can ping the server from my desktop. All my other colleagues are able to login to the server name. But I cant.

Please help me in this regard.

Try to enter the IP address of your client to the /etc/host file of the Baan server.

If you're using rexec to connect you most likely have to disable reverse DNS lookup. (option B being what JP said about putting your IP in the /etc/hosts but that will get cumbersome with too many users or DHCP)

http://docs.hp.com/en/B3921-90010/rexecd.1M.html

Would look something like (in your /etc/services)

exec stream tcp nowait root /usr/lbin/rexecd rexecd -s
