I just newly setup SSALN onto my backupserver. I had created printer and doing sharing. When I try to print something from LN worktop, an error message shows "No permission to use printer \\host\printername". I am using MS Windows 2003 and SQL2005. Any clue?

You tried to print from a workstation or from the backupserver?
Is the printer connected physically to the server (and sharing with clients) or are you using a shared printer connected to a client?

who and what is assigned under :

\\host\printername --->

printer - properties - security ?

Everyone , Owner .... ?

Rights : Admin printer , Print , Admin Documents , Special.

Maybe there's not the proper rights.

Hi all,

I can't print from the server itself and from client workstation. I have checked the printing permission. I have shared the printer and allow "Everyone" to print. I can print from MS Word and other office automation application. The printer is attached to the printer server and shared through the Baan Server. In the server printer and faxes, the printer is seen as a local printer. All our PCs and servers are only in Workgroup environment.
