Hope someone checks this this weekend. I am importing a table via bdbpost6.2 (Baan 5.0c), and am getting a error 520 (Can not commit transaction) everytime I try to import one table in paticular (tccom140 - Contacts). Can anyone shed some light? I'm open for suggestions. I have already screwed with the database (Oracle) and data files, but this error seems to be more Baan related.

Thanks,
Jerrod

Hi Jerrod,

I am working at a customer tonight migrating from an EMC 3430 array to a 8430.

What errors are you getting in the log.bdbpost file? Are you jst seeing the 520 on the screen or in the log as well.

The 520 error is very vague as it is the "error during buffered updates" -- there are a number of possible causes.

Let me know or you can call me on my cell phone (you should have the number -- I am definitely not going to post it here :) )

Hey Jim, thanks for the reply.

I got Kipp on the phone right now. The only message that appears is in the error output file and on the screen. I tried
to run through the client and bdbpost direct. But the same message appears both ways.

Is the 520 also showing up in the log or is it another error code?

Just on the screen or in the output file. The log is showing a detected termination message.

Check your voicemail.

It just makes me laugh (despite being 1:00 AM on a Saturday night).

Jerrod,

The problem could be duplicate rows when uploading records but then I would expect more errors. You could also try using the -n (Ignore ref. integrity constraints) *and* the -m option (disable domain constraints) when running bdbpost6.2.

By the way, Baanboard may have its root in Europe but truly is a global Baan community! :)
