We are using device for transfering file to excel.Sometimes it gives error message
"cannot create file /tmp/a1.csv " when we click on ok gives message "conversion cancelled"

Below is the fields we set on maintain device for this device :
Device : csvexcel1
Device type:REwrite file
locale : ISO-8859-1
4GL program : ttstpconv
Argument : ASCII:excel.exe
path:/tmp/a1.csv
change allowd ticked
page length :9999

Pl.note above erro comes generally in the evening.Do any one has any idea for this

Hi,
I take it that you get this error while running the conversion or print command from the client side. If so, it could well be a network related issue as you usually get this during the evening time. The fact that it works almost all the other time proves there is nothing wrong with the Device setup. Perhaps you could check this conversion from another workstation or monitor the network using some performance monitor and see whats in the log at the time this conversion fails...

My observation on "conversion cancelled" is due to access error. Pl. check /tmp is accessible for those users.

Also please check your OS logbooks and maybe copy/paste some onfo here, so we could have a look at it...
