I have a new AIX 5.3 L, 4 hds, 4 G Memory, machine. The contractor installed the OS put only the system filesystems under the jfs2 on hdisk0, the rest of the hdisk# and user filesystems under the jfs. I am wondering that in order to install the BAAN 5 and its operations, does its filesystem have to be jfs or jfs2, so to avoid any operation error or hung later? I am not Baan admin or user, I am in charge in the Oracle 10g R2 part of the whole system.

Baan does not require any specific filesystem. Is uses standard calls to the os so each of them will work. However depending on the characteristics of the fs type one could be better as the other.
