Hello,
Good Morning!
I am new to BaaN adminitration and I have a question, i.e., is it possible to create and connect multiple BaaN users to a single system user. For example single windows user is xyz123 and BaaN users are xyz123, xyz1234 and xyz567. Can any one help me?
Thanks in adavnce.

Hi Dmanick,
I know this is possible in Unix systems. You create an OS user and a BaaN user. When you configure the connection in the BaaN client, there is an optional area called "command." In that space we give the following command.
-- -set USER=baanuser
This works on BaaN 5 under Unix. I think it works under the BaaN 4 client also, however I'm not sure if the syntax is different for MSWindows.

Hi dmanick,
I don't Multi BaaN user for single System user is a good way.
For it, everybody want his password is owned by himself.
But if Multi Baan user to use a single system user, How to prevent the security?

Hello Friends,
Thank you very much for all of your valuable inputs and I setup two BaaN users and connected to single system user. Both the users are for me only, one for development and another for support. It works fine.
Thanks,
dmanick

Hi
This can be achieved by creating Windows user, and then creating baan user(s) and linking the baan user with system user.
The only drawback of this approach is all the users have to share the same password.

If you have extended the system login field, you can no longer have a single OS user assigned to multiple Baan users...
