We moved BaaNIVc windows 2000, MS SQL 2000 SP3, IBM server to BaaNIVc windows 2003 ( Enterprise ) , MS SQL 2000 SP3, Dell Power edge 2850 server.

Every 10-15 days our remote users connected with VPN lines in other state unable to login Baan server, it is hanged in information dialog box where as local user smoothly login and logout and working smoothly. In this case we have reset the router for remote user but not successed. But as soon as we restart the baan server everything again as usual and remote user again can login smoothly. But after 10-15 days again same thing happening.

Pl. advice to remove this problem.

Are you dam sure, this problem started after migration and not earlier?

Because it may be related to:

1. Memory
2. Connectivity
3. BaaN Licence/Locked users
4. Hanged DB sessions

Please give, what kind of errors occurred at client side bshells and server side event viewer.

Based on this info, we can able to diagonose and support you in this issue.

Yes this problem started after migtation.
The local user can log in baan smoothly and working fine. But the remote user in another state connected with VPN line can reach upto opening dialog box of BaaN. As soon as shutdown the baan the remote user again easliy logged in BaaN. T have checked event viewer in server and find only one message "Display server termination"

Have you tried pinging remote pc's? Also check next/previous massage of "Display server termination" and App/Db logs.

You should observe VPN 'users subnet mask and compare it with your baan network parameters in unix side. Look at etc/hosts file . Of course look at this at time you have a problem.

Yes remote user pc's are pinging perfectly and remote user also can ping BaaN
server smoothly. that's why we do not understand where is the problem.
