Dear dgonzalez,

(1) what is the result of echo $NLS_LANG

e.g. AMERICAN_AMERICA.us7ascii

IMPORTANT: use
AMERICAN<UNDERSCORE>AMERICA
not
AMERICAN<hyphen>AMERICA (not: AMERICAN-AMERICA.us7ascii)

(2) found on the internet:

If you are using the Instant Client on Linux or Unix, the ORA-12705 error occurs if the NLS_LANG environment variable is set to NA. To solve the problem, unset NLS_LANG. For example:

unix$> unset NLS_LANG

1) to set NLS_LANG in tabledef6.1
2) check ora_update -script in $BSE/bin
3) oracle_home/lib32, /lib und /javavm/lib to 755
