I am facing problems related to ITBR in finance module. In this connection I had been suggested to install the latest portingset 6.1c.07.08. I am not aware of Porting set fundas. I am in need of procedure that how to install / how to modify Porting set, what precautions should take before doing these changes etc. Also let me know where / how we can get recent BW - B40c.79.

You are requested that plz guide me in this issue ASAP. I am using B40 c4, Win-2k and SQL-2k.

Hi,

I am explaining you step by step porting set installation.

1. Take backup of Database at data level as well as binaries level.

2. Take backup of complete BSE folder.

3. Take backup of your customization.

4. Download porting set from www.support.baan.com.

5. Run setup file .

6. after completion of installation of porting set install client for new porting set.

7. Restart your machine.


It's complete procedure for installation. Before to instal porting set also refer installation guide of porting set.

The installation procedure can be downloaded via:

installation notes regarding cluster environment:

The complete portingset contains of 5 dumps namely:
The portingset binaries:
.."OS"/"OS_version"/bin/bin.dmp.Z

The API libraries:
.."OS"/"OS_version"/api/apilib.Z

The tss and oracle sql files:
.."OS"/"OS_version"/lib/lib.dmp.Z

The java files:
.."OS"/"OS_version"/java/java.dmp.Z

The shared libraries:
.."OS"/"OS_version"/shlib/shlib.dmp.Z

Sanjay, you don't need # 3, or (Take backup of Database at data level) and not all of #1, 2.

The following should be done -

Before installing the new porting set, make backup copies of the following $BSE directories:

api
java
shlib
lib
bin

For Latest version of Setup for Client Binaries - sol no 13743
For The latest Porting Sets for Triton3.1/BaanIV- sol no 15219
For General solution for the Standard program version B40c - sol no 10923

for porting set installation copy api,bin,bmscs,lib,java,shlib folders at other place & install porting set (run setup.exe) in standalone mode.
