I would like to know if one has n licences from Baan we should count only as n-1 license available for us? If yes what is the one extra license for?

My understanding is that if you buy n licences then you will have n + 1 licences available. However, one of these can only be used for a ba session (ie: not with bw client)

It is only recently that we learned this. For years baan had been setting the licenc count at 'n' each time extra were purchased and when relicencing new boxes.

I agree with Mr rsundersan, when we buy Baan with 10 licences we are able to use 9 licences and one is said to be a tools license

It is as per your contract with SSA.

It is for tools activities otherwise you will get "Compact Development Menu" which is under Tools > Application Development.
