HI,
I am trying to install BaaN IV c4 on oracle 8.0.5 on OS WINNT4.0..
The Oracle 8.0.5 has been installed sucessfully but while installing BaaN IV c4 it is creating the file BAAN.dbf correctly but while creating the file baanidx.dbf it goes till size 490MB and shows an error message: Environment not found baanidx.

Hopefully you have a very old installation disk, since NT and Oracle 8.0 aren't
supported anymore by the porting set.
Just create your database outside of Baan and continue from there.. or you could search metalink for that error, since it doesn't sound like it is baan related.

To be honest, I think the most successfully aproach would be:
a) Install based on SQL server (always worked with any installation CD of Baan)
b) dump company 000
c) Install Oracle and a database instance manually
d) configure oracle for baan (user baan, role r_baan etc)
e) configure baan for oracle (ora_users, ora_groups, ...)
f) load company 000 into baan
sound difficult, but will work and ou have mich more control.
On the other side:
Why would you install Baan on such an old platform? If you answer this question, then maybe the solution can be much more easy.
