Hi everybody,

I´m trying to install Baan IVc4 on SQL Server 2K and Windows XP professional and I got the following error: "SQL Server build number '194' is not supported. The minimum build number is '384'. Existing Setup with an error". Does anyone knows what is happening ?

regards,

Xikkos

HI,

that's a baan bug, in this build the buildnumber is changed by Microsoft from 3 to 4 digits; the Baan Setup read's only the last 3 digits.

Get a new Installation Medium from Baan with the latest Installer.

Hi Martin,

I solved this problem installing the SP3a for SQL server 2k but now I got another error, when the installer is trying to import the company 000 (tools company) the following error message appers "can´t lock table (error 521)", however, the shared memory is loaded. Do you know what it´s means ?

regards,
Xikkos.

Hi,

the 521 error is an error that comes up if service pack 2 for Win XP is installed. If you uninstall service pack 2 it should work.

If you found a better solution than uninstalling service pack 2, then please let me know.

I have the same issue (error 521) during installation of ERP on Windows 2003 server + SQL 2k SP3a, with latest MS patches. Manual import of .pre file with bdbpost is failing as well.
Tried removing all the patches that were installed on the server (2003 server is build nr. 3790) but the error still remains!

Xikkos - are you able to use bdbpost after reinstalling XP SP2?

Hi Davor_p,

I have to continue using Baan IVc4 on Windows XP without SP2, with SP2 installed on Windows XP I get this message ("can´t lock table (error 521)"), even after Baan installation.

If you found a better solution please tell us.

rds,
Xikkos.

My problem was solved after installing from the server console as opposed to installing through Remote Desktop. Apparently something is working differenlty when you log in to the system with RD...
Also when you're accessing server through Remote Desktop, Shared Memory Manager fails to load as well.

to run baan c4 (6.1.3.7) on xp prof. with SP 2 & mssql 2k sp3a,
I changed shared memory start address to 0x2F00000 and now I'm able to manually import comp.000 without err 521, so baan works OK!
you can change the start address with $BSE\bentman.exe
