Hello Everybody,

I have BaanIV C4 in my company and we are using SQL 7.0 with Windows NT. My live company has a separate Package VRC. Now I want to apply Baan Service pack 5 and Service 6. Somebody suggested me to first test these Service packs in a Separate VRC so that live company is not affected. I created a separate package vrc, from standard VRC , created package combination and defined software components. After that what are the steps that I need to take to apply service pack to this new VRC only. Also I want data of my Live company for this Testing VRC, without affecting Live data. How this can be possible.

Creating a parallel env. is the right way. Next step would be to bring your Live and test env. at par (i.e install upto SP4 and other individual patches/solutions which you may have loaded) in the Test Patch env.

Than install SP5 and SP6 in Test Patch env; test for the functionality/tools change and if things are fine; install it in live enviornment.

I dont think there is any short-cut!!

Best of luck

You make a sequential dump of tables of your live company and then create tables of sequential dump on your test company number. Sessions ttaad4226m000 and ttaad4227m000.

Don't forget to run session tfgld9004m000 afterwards in the test company!
