We have just installed Citrix and would like to printing in BaaN to
the local Printer via the Citrix connection. We are using Citrix to connect to BaaN via the Internet and WAN.

However, I keep on getting this error when printing to the Local Printer(Lpt1) In BaaN :

m:\documents and settings\ All Users\BaaN 4\tmp022151232.bpf was not found!

"m" - The Citrix Server hard drive

Does the Local Printer has to be in the network or installed on the Citrix Server or on the Client Pc?

1. We are using Windows 2000 on Client Pcs

2. BaaN IV C4

3. Server NT 4.0

.bpf files are the temporary baan print files created when you print a file / report from BaaN. It seems "bwprint" application file is missing. This file will be located under /baan/bin directory in the client. look for this file.. if not found try installing the BW client again or just copy the bwprint file from some other PC.

The Bw Print exists in the respective BaaN folder but I still get the same error. :(

This does look like a Citrix enviroment problem. It looks like BWPrint is looking in the said directory, whereas most of the time the temp files are stored on the server. There must be an enviroment variable that allows the BW client to look at the servers temp directory instead.

Please see the attachment on Environment Variables on our Citrix Server. :(

I have a feeling that those BSE and BSE_TEMP enviroments should be set to the Baan server locations and not where they are currently set!

We have Citrix running several hundred clients over local and WAN. We use BWPRINT for most printing. It works well. Please contact Jon Silverwood (Citrix admin) for configuration support at "jsilverwood@solarturbines.com".

Hi,

Guys, thanks for all your help. The Problem was solved by giving more rights to the user on the Citrix Server.

One of our customers uses the combination Citrix on W2K to accomodate connections to an other machine W2K Baan server. Similar problems occurred with the EME editor, could not pick up the local placed files.

In W2K there is a setting in Terminal Services Configuration like "Permission Compatibility". This has (by default) the value "Windows2000 compatibility", but after it is changed to "Compatible with Terminal Services 4.0 users" and tested, the problem was over.

Then - to our surprise - when setting it back to "Windows2000 compatibility", the problem did not reoccur!!!

Explanation please. ???

Hi,

We had the same problem and that was resolved by setting Permission Compatibility to "Windows NT 4.0 Users". But when changed back to "Windows 2000 ....", the problem persisted ...

Dear All,

I have the same problem now !
I set the user variables in the usrlogon.cmd in the system32 folder like this ...

REG ADD "HKCU\Environment" /V "BSE_NAME" /T REG_SZ /F /D "Baan IV"
REG ADD "HKCU\Environment" /V "BSE" /T REG_SZ /F /D "M:\Program Files\Baan"
REG ADD "HKCU\Environment" /V "BSE_TMP" /T REG_SZ /F /D "%BSE%\tmp"

I grant Users and Terminal Server Users read, write, modify permissions to all Files and Folders in the Baan Install Foder.

When a Users tries to print the tmp filexxxxxxxxxxxx.bpf file has been created in M:\Program Files\Baan\tmp and then the user get the error.

BwPrint

There is currently no valid printer in your printer setup

How can I get the Users to Print ?

The Printer is working from all other applications installed on the Citrix Server.
The Users are able to Print to BaaN Printers

But the Users are not able to Print to a Windows Standard Printer on a Citrix Server.

Please help.
